If the Scheme doesn’t apply, follow the steps:
- Pay the treatment cost upfront- not fun we know, bear with us,
- Submit your bill and a two way claim form (here) to Medicare- you can do this through your mygov account or call Medicare
- Medicare will do their thing, processing any amounts your due back from them.
- Medicare will then send us the rest of the bill,
- We will do our thing and procees any amounts you can claim from us (Pending your policy details)
- By the time it all gets back to you, the only amount outstanding should be any excess or co-payments.
If you need help with this process or want to understand more about it, chat with our team via phone 1300 499 260 or flick us an email info@seeuhealthinsurance.com.au

What is a ‘gap’?
A gap (aka out-of-pocket) is the part of a medical bill you'll need to cover after Medicare and/or private health fund have chipped in
With all of see-u’s Hospital Cover options, ‘gap cover’ is included. If your doctor and hospital treat you under the ‘Access Gap Cover Scheme,’ you’ll have little to no gap to worry about. You really should check out more info on the scheme (money saver)- Changes to Access Gap Cover Scheme | see-u
Before any procedure (especially surgery), it’s smart to ask your doctor or provider for an estimate of any out-of-pocket costs. Better to know upfront than be surprised later!
